Valerie Murphy

Valerie Murphy is a seasoned audit professional with extensive experience in internal audit leadership across various sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director and Group Head of Internal Audit at ICON plc since October 2019, Valerie previously held the position of Global Internal Audit Manager at Perrigo Company plc, overseeing audit functions for international locations. With a solid foundation in internal audit management established at Campbell Bewley Group as Group Internal Audit Manager, Valerie also contributed to the Western Union as an Internal Audit Manager on a contract basis, and held roles at Dell as Business Controls Manager and IBM as Senior Revenue Accountant. Valerie began their career at KPMG Dublin, where responsibilities included leading audit teams and preparing financial statements. Holding a Fellow of Chartered Accountants designation and a Bachelor's degree in Business and German from the University of Limerick, Valerie is recognized for strategic oversight and team management within the audit domain.
