Claus Hansen

Claus Hansen has a diverse work experience in the field of biometrics, smart cards, payment technology, and cybersecurity. Starting their career as a Factory Manager at DZ Group, they introduced new management processes in the production of cards and printed materials. Claus then joined Banner, a startup in the Philippines, where they played a crucial role in manufacturing high-quality banking cards and leading the sales and marketing team. Claus later moved to Schlumberger, where they spearheaded marketing efforts for telecom and developed the market for smart cards and payment terminals in Southeast Asia.

After their time at Schlumberger, Claus joined Gemalto as the SVP of the Security Business Unit in Asia, targeting government and digital security opportunities. Claus also led the Telecom Sales team in Asia, integrating sales and technical support structures after the merger between Axalto and Gemplus.

Claus Hansen then joined NXP as the Senior Director for the Identification Business Unit in APJ, where they exceeded $700M in revenue and secured regional government and financial sector design-ins.

Following their role at NXP, Claus worked at Thin Film Electronics as the Regional Vice President, focusing on IoT and NFC solutions. Claus achieved short-term revenue targets and supported funding rounds with strategic partnerships in China, Japan, and Hong Kong.

Claus then moved to KONA I CO., LTD., where they served as the Executive Vice President of Global Sales, internationalizing the sales team and achieving aggressive revenue growth from overseas partners. Claus collaborated with Visa, MasterCard, and AMEX to bring innovative solutions to the global market.

After KONA I CO., LTD., Claus joined Entrust as the Vice President of Digital Solutions for the APJ region. Claus built and mentored a high-performance sales team, driving subscription revenue growth from cloud-based service solutions.

Most recently, Claus Hansen joined Zwipe as the Vice President of Sales and Business Development for APAC, focusing on biometric payment solutions. Now, at IDEX Biometrics, Claus serves as the VP Sales for the APAC region, leading the commercial push for the adoption of fingerprint sensors and biometrics solutions in smart cards and devices. Claus manages a team of professionals and accelerates market awareness and deployment of next-generation smart cards with biometric authentication functionality.

Claus Hansen holds a Masters degree in Engineering from DTU - Technical University of Denmark, which they obtained from 1984 to 1990. In 2012, they completed a program in Strategies for Asia Pacific at INSEAD.
