Julie Anne Steiger

Julie Anne (she/her) is an experienced Somatic Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor whose areas of specialization include anxiety and stress, chronic pain, creatives/artists, depression, developmental trauma, grief and loss, highly sensitive children and adults, neurodivergence, spiritual/existential crisis, and post traumatic stress. She previously worked at Idyllwild Arts Academy as a Counselor (2014-2017) and practiced as a Psychotherapist in the Idyllwild community for 6 years. Her rich and varied service experience includes working as a social worker with children in therapeutic foster care and adoptions, as a treatment specialist in inpatient psychiatric care, as well as supporting elders in long term care. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and anti-oppressive paradigms. As a multi-modal trauma specialist, Julie Anne has dedicated her career to training in the most effective practices for healing and growth after trauma. In practice, she utilizes Somatic Experiencing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Practices, Expressive Arts, Ecotherapy, and Equine Therapy. She loves to learn and seeks to understand the unifying principles of healing found amongst all cultures.
