John Kerekes

John Kerekes has a diverse work experience in the field of geoscience and remote sensing. John served as the Chief Financial Officer for the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, overseeing a budget of over $10 million. At the Rochester Institute of Technology, they held multiple positions, including Professor, Associate Professor, and Director of the Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing Laboratory. John also worked as a Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory for over a decade. In 2019, they joined the U.S. Department of State as a Jefferson Science Fellow, where they advised on environmental sensing and represented the department at interagency events.

John Kerekes earned their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Purdue University between 1984 and 1986. John then went on to pursue their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the same field at Purdue University from 1986 to 1989.
