Houbing Herbert Song is a Tenured Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Baltimore County since January 2023, with a distinguished career within IEEE starting in May 2017 as the Founding Chair of the IoT Technical Community Trustworthy Internet of Things (TRUST-IoT) Working Group. Houbing has been recognized as an IEEE Fellow for significant contributions to big data analytics and the integration of artificial intelligence with the Internet of Things. Houbing serves in multiple editorial roles, including Associate Editor for various IEEE journals and as a Distinguished Lecturer for several IEEE societies and organizations. Education credentials include a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at El Paso. Additionally, Houbing is involved with the NSF IUCRC Center for Aviation Big Data Analytics as Founding Director and holds membership in Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society.
