Fahad Ifaz is the co-founder and CEO of iFarmer, a company that provides digital solutions to smallholder farmers. Prior to their current role, Fahad served as an advisor for local economic development and market systems development. In this capacity, they worked with municipalities to improve their local economies through innovation and participation of local actors.
Fahad has also worked with Accelerating Asia, where they managed and supervised the EDGE team in conducting the Scoping for Gender Mainstreaming in Maize Value Chain. The objective of the study was to scope out the opportunity to enhance the role of female farmers and labors in maize production by understanding the gender dynamics and comparative advantage for women in maize sector. The study outcome was a set of interventions inline with the M4P approach to scale up the role of women in maize value chains through leveraging the existing market actors and considering the local dynamics.
Fahad holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Karachi.
Fahad's educational career began with a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from North South University in the field of Economics and International Business. Fahad continued their studies with an Msc in Economics from North South University, specializing in International Economics. After working for a few years, Fahad decided to return to school to get their Agri Business Management degree from the Asian Institute of Technology. Fahad has also completed a Making Markets Work program from The Springfield Centre for Business in Development, UK, and has received certifications from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Competitive Strategy and Innovation and from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Diploma in Agri - Business Management.
