Balakumar Appavoo

Balakumar Appavoo is an accomplished industrial designer with extensive experience in creating household appliances tailored for the Indian market. Currently serving as Deputy Manager of Industrial Design at IFB Appliances since June 2015, Balakumar has played a pivotal role in designing a range of products, including refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and various consumer electronics. Prior experience includes a consultancy role at Borosil Limited focused on kitchenware, and internships at Advandes Design and Engineering Services and LUMIUM, where skills in rapid prototyping and consumer product design were further developed. Balakumar holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial and Product Design from the National Institute of Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University Chennai.
