Kel Cecil has a diverse range of work experience. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Engineering at iGo since June 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Engineering at iGo from April 2020 to June 2023, where they led engineering teams and focused on developing new products.
Kel also worked as a Partner at Motown Tilt Arcade from November 2022 to June 2023. In this role, they played a key role in the company's operations and management.
Furthermore, Kel has experience in academia, having worked as an Adjunct Professor of Applied Computer Science at the University of Charleston from July 2021 to December 2022. During their time there, they taught various computer science courses.
Before that, Kel was a Senior Software Engineer at Veristo from October 2017 to April 2020. They held the position of engineering team lead for the Veristo project and focused on facilitating communication between different teams.
Prior to Veristo, Kel worked as a Senior Software Engineer at realtor.com from April 2013 to October 2017. In this role, they oversaw an API project, mentored junior engineers, and conducted regular meetings to discuss project objectives.
Kel also gained experience as a Software Engineer III at Matthews International from June 2012 to April 2013. They were responsible for overseeing the development of WebSphere Commerce and Sterling Configurator Java components.
Earlier in their career, Kel served as a Mid-level Software Engineer at IMTS from May 2011 to June 2012. They worked on operations, bug fixing, and feature development for the N-DEx system.
Lastly, Kel began their professional journey as a Research Assistant with the Modeling Intelligence Lab at West Virginia University from April 2010 to May 2011. They later became the IT Manager for the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, where they managed a computer repair shop, assisted research groups, and worked on implementing and configuring data acquisition cards.
Kel Cecil obtained a Masters degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Forensics from West Virginia University, where they studied from 2008 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from West Virginia University Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2008. They also acquired a Certificate in Computer Maintenance Technology (Engineering) from Mercer County Technical Education Center from 2002 to 2004. Additionally, Kel Cecil holds certifications in A+, Network+, and i-Net+ from CompTIA.
