Maxine Harrington MCIPD, MBPsS has over 20 years of experience in various HR roles in both the non-profit and healthcare sectors. Maxine is currently the Head of People at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED). Prior to this, they served as the Director of People and Culture at ARTICLE 19, where they implemented strategic initiatives such as a person-centered COVID response program and a cultural review for an inclusive working environment. Maxine also worked as a Senior International HR Business Partner at Leonard Cheshire Disability and as a Senior Human Resources Manager at Rädda Barnen - Save the Children Sweden, where they provided HR leadership and support in complex emergency response settings. Maxine has also held HR leadership positions at R.I.S.E, Save the Children UK, and the NHS. Additionally, Maxine has worked as an Interim/Freelance HR practitioner for various organizations and as a Senior HR Advisor at the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. Maxine started their career as a Human Resources Development Advisor at ARAVIND EYE CARE SYSTEM, where they focused on strengthening organizational capacity.
Maxine Harrington MCIPD, MBPsS completed their BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology at the University of Sussex from 2007 to 2010. Maxine later pursued their Masters of Arts degree in Community Psychology at the University of Brighton from 2013 to 2018.
