Director- Investment Banking And Impact Partners at Impact Investment Exchange (IIX)

Jonathan Abeywickrema has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Jonathan currently holds the position of Director- Investment Banking and Impact Partners at Impact Investment Exchange (IIX), where they have been since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President- Impact Partners (Investment Banking) from 2021 to 2023.

Jonathan also worked as an Executive Consultation Member at OECD - OCDE in 2021, where they contributed to the development of the Blue Dot Network, a certification scheme aimed at attracting investment into infrastructure. Jonathan founded Flavours of Lanka in 2018, a business focused on promoting Sri Lankan culture and products.

From 2016 to 2021, Jonathan served as the Director of Strategic Planning at LIIN (Lanka Impact Investing Network), where they actively invested in social enterprises and provided business development support to social entrepreneurs in Sri Lanka.

Jonathan started their career at Hatton National Bank PLC in 2013, where they held multiple roles including Deputy Head-Capital Market Services, Treasury Dealer, and Management Trainee- Treasury and Global Markets. At Hatton National Bank, they achieved significant milestones, such as becoming the best sub custodian in Sri Lanka and capturing a significant market share in the custody and trustee services unit.

Jonathan also co-founded Clubhouse Vivaldi, a clothing brand, and worked at PwC as a consultant in finance. Additionally, they served as a Portfolio Manager at Probe Group, managing taxpayer accounts and providing tax management advice to clients.

In 2010, Jonathan worked as a Customer Care Representative at KFC US. Overall, they have had a wide range of experiences in investment banking, impact investing, business development, finance consulting, and customer service.

Jonathan Abeywickrema completed their Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree in Accounting and Finance at Monash University from 2009 to 2012. Jonathan also obtained a Certificate in Financial Engineering and Risk Management from Columbia University in 2020. Additionally, they hold a GCE O/Level from S.Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia, which was completed from 1997 to 2007. Jonathan is currently pursuing a degree in Business Incubation Management with a focus on Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at The University of Queensland. Jonathan has obtained several additional certifications in various fields, including finance and sustainability.
