Robert Sutherlin has a diverse work experience in the automotive industry. Robert started as a Project Coordinator at INA Bearing, Schaeffler Group in 1993, where they were responsible for program management and resolving roadblocks during the launch process. Robert then worked as an Application Engineer at NTN Bearing Corporation, handling engineering issues for wheel bearing business and collaborating with major automotive companies. In 1999, they became a Manager at Koyo Bearings North America, leading a team to support technical issues and ensure customer requirements were met. Robert joined Warn Industries in 2005 as a Sr. Sales Engineer, developing relationships with customers and launching new AWD drivetrain and disconnect solutions. From 2007 to 2019, they worked at General Motors as the Global BOM Family Owner for Wheel Bearings. Robert was recognized as an industry expert and implemented a strategy that improved warranty costs by $200MM. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Technical Officer - Wheel Bearings at Iljin USA Corporation, where they support customer programs and develops long-term strategies for the wheel bearing business.
Robert Sutherlin pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering at Duke University, specializing in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science. Additionally, they completed coursework towards an MBA at Winthrop University, focusing on Business.
