Dr. Roopa Rawjee has a comprehensive background in international education. Dr. Roopa is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Office of International Engagement at Illinois State University. Prior to this, they held the same position at Northeastern University from 2019 to 2022. Dr. Rawjee also served as the Assistant Dean/Director of International Student Services at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2017 to 2019. Before that, they were the Director of International Student and Scholar Services at Bridgewater State University from 2010 to 2017. Dr. Rawjee began their career in international education as a Foreign Student Advisor at California State University, Northridge, where they were responsible for overseeing SEVIS and providing support to international students and scholars.
Dr. Roopa Rawjee holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from California Lutheran University and a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from California State University, Northridge. Dr. Roopa also has additional certifications as a BASICS (Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students) Educator, Bystander Intervention Trainer from Prevention Innovations, QPR Gatekeeper Instructor from the QPR Institute, and a StrengthQuest Facilitator/Trainer from Gallup.
