Alex Y.

Alex Y. has extensive experience in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Illumina since December 2010. In this role, Alex leads the implementation of commercial and corporate strategic plans across the Americas, focusing on growth opportunities and competitive strategy. Previously, Alex held several leadership positions at Illumina, including Associate Director roles where success included reversing revenue declines and consistently surpassing revenue targets. Alex's career also includes significant experience at Affymetrix and Eppendorf Group, demonstrating a strong track record in sales and account management, including award-winning performances and the development of key business strategies. Alex holds a Ph.D. in Neurobiology and a B.S. in Biology from UC Irvine.
