Zing Tsai

Zing Tsai is a seasoned bioinformatics professional with extensive experience in leading teams and driving clinical genomic product development at Illumina since August 2018. As a Bioinformatics Manager, Zing has successfully directed PhD scientists in designing data infrastructure and developing oncology biomarker algorithms while ensuring cross-functional collaboration. Previous roles included Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, where Zing managed key projects to facilitate clinical product development, and roles as Senior, II, and I Bioinformatics Scientist, focusing on next-generation sequencing (NGS) frameworks and automation in clinical workflows. Prior to Illumina, Zing served as a Bioinformatics Research Fellow at the University of Michigan and a Postdoctoral Scientist at Michigan State University, concentrating on multi-omics data integration and machine learning applications in genomics. Zing holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from Academia Sinica, an MS in Biomedical Engineering, and a BS in Biological/Biosystems Engineering from National Taiwan University.
