Billy Tubb Ies Iald

Billy Tubb has a diverse work experience in the field of lighting design and engineering. Billy is currently serving as the President of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) since 2023. Prior to this role, Billy worked at RKL Sales Corp since 2019, specializing in lighting and control systems design and specification. Billy was also a Junior Associate Member at the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) starting from 2017. Billy held various positions at the IES, including serving as the Southern Regional Director on the Board of Directors from 2018 to 2022, as well as Chair and Vice Chair of District 4. Before their involvement with IES, they worked at the University of New Mexico as the Associate Director of Production and Technical Director at Popejoy Hall for almost three decades, from 1990 to 2019. Additionally, Billy served as the President of the New Mexico Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America from 2009 to 2016.

Billy Tubb attended The University of New Mexico from 1984 to 1989, where they obtained a BFA in Technical Theatre/Theatre Design and Technology.
