Katherine Broendel

Katherine Broendel is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Communications at ILSI Global since March 2021, Katherine specializes in creating proactive communications materials and managing social media content. Previously, Katherine held the role of Senior Communications Manager at ILSI, leading a successful organizational rebranding initiative. Katherine's professional background includes roles such as Program Manager for Media Relations at the American Geophysical Union, where strategic communications plans were developed, and Senior Communications Manager at Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, focusing on media outreach. Katherine also has experience in academia as an Adjunct Instructor at American University and has held media relations positions at AAUW and the National Geographic Society. Katherine holds a Master's degree from the American University School of Communication and a Bachelor's degree in Geography from the University of Mary Washington.
