Tommy Gilligan

Tommy Gilligan is a freelance photographer based in Maryland, known for their philosophy of “Make the Mundane Awesome” through photography. Since founding Tommy Gilligan Photography in 2009, Gilligan has dedicated their career to capturing remarkable moments within everyday environments. Tommy's extensive experience includes roles as a contract photographer for USA TODAY Sports Images and ZUMA Press, as well as various positions with Legion Photo and Lax Allstars. Prior experience includes serving as the Photography and Social Media Editor for West Point Public Affairs and as an instructor in Intermediate Photojournalism at the Defense Information School. Gilligan's early career includes military service as a petty officer aboard the USS John F. Kennedy, where Tommy managed advanced photography training during combat deployments. Gilligan holds a Bachelor's Degree with Individual Concentration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
