Hugh Rienhoff is a San Francisco Bay Area clinical physician-scientist and entrepreneur. He is the Chief Executive Officer and a Founder of Imago BioSciences.
Prior to founding Imago BioSciences in 2012, he was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of FerroKin BioSciences, a hematology-focused, clinical-stage company acquired by Shire, plc. in 2012. In 1998, Dr. Rienhoff founded DNA Sciences, a company focused on the discovery of the genetic basis of common diseases. He was
a founding director of Healtheon/WebMD (HLTH) and Aurora Biosciences (ABSC).
Dr. Rienhoff trained in mathematics, medicine and genetics at Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. He received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and English literature from Williams College.
