Andrew Almendras

Vice President, Marketing Strategy & Planning at IMAX

Andrew Almendras has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Andrew started their career at Patty Park Agency in 2009, working in fashion consulting. Andrew then worked at The Sheppard from 2009 to 2016, where they held roles such as Project Coordinator, Market Researcher, Project Manager, and Senior Project Manager, gaining experience in brand activation, consumer engagement, and digital strategy. In 2016, they joined IMAX as Manager of Creative Services, where they played an integral role in rebuilding the creative team and driving brand design. Over the years, they progressed within the company, holding positions such as Director of Creative - Global Marketing and Vice President of Global Creative Marketing. In 2020, they also became an Advisory Board Member at UC Irvine. Additionally, in 2021, they were selected as an Adweek CMO Mentee as part of the Adweek Executive Mentor Program. Currently, they are in their latest role as Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Planning at IMAX, responsible for long-range strategic planning, budget strategy, and performance measurement.

Andrew Almendras has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and International Studies from UC Irvine, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009. In 2007 to 2008, they also studied at Universidad de Granada, focusing on Spanish and Anthropology. In 2015, Andrew attended UCLA Extension for Executive Communication. More recently, in 2021, Andrew pursued additional education at the University of Southern California, specializing in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies and Social Enterprise.
