Rik Hortensius

Rik Hortensius has extensive experience in both trading and applied physics research. Currently serving as a Trader at IMC financial markets & asset management since 2014, Rik previously conducted research as a PhD candidate at TU Delft, focusing on the electrodynamics of carbon nanotubes and superconducting nanowires. This research included designing a new experimental setup. Initial experience includes an internship at Thales R&T, developing control software for superconducting films, and tutoring high-school students in physics and mathematics with StudentsPlus Bijlessen. Rik holds a PhD in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology, along with an MSc in Nanoscience and a BSc in Physics from the same institution and Leiden University, respectively.
