Klaus Mathwig

Klaus Mathwig has a comprehensive work experience, starting with their current role as Principal Member of Technical Staff at OnePlanet Research Center, a position they have held since August 2020. Klaus also serves as the Team Lead Biosensor Technology at imec since January 2022. Prior to these roles, Klaus worked as an Assistant Professor/Group Lead at the University of Groningen from November 2014 to July 2020. Klaus gained further experience as a Visiting Scientist at TU Delft in October 2014 and as a Research Scientist at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research from February 2014 to October 2014. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Twente from January 2011 to December 2013 and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich from April 2010 to December 2010. Klaus began their career as a Research Assistant at the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics from July 2006 to March 2010, and earlier as a Research Assistant at Universität Kassel from December 2005 to May 2006. Klaus gained initial research experience as a Diploma Student at Universität Würzburg from September 2004 to November 2005.

Klaus Mathwig completed their education with multiple degrees. Klaus obtained a Dipl.-Ing. in Nanostructuring Technology from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg in 2005. Prior to that, they attended Freie Universität Berlin in 2001 to study Chemistry and Physics. Additionally, they briefly studied Physics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2000. Klaus also has a Ph.D. in Physics, specifically in the field of study of unknown, from The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg in 2010. Before their higher education, they participated in an exchange program at Escalon High School in 1996.
