Nicolas Pilet joined iMMAP in January 2020 as a Global Security Coordinator.
Having managed several crises and ensured business continuity, Nicolas is an enabling, strategic and influencing leader, and a professional that gives great importance to transparent and robust systems that allow strong mutual accountability. He has been on-call 24/7 during the past 15 years.
Mr. Pilet is a humanitarian worker with over 10 years of experience working in South Sudan, Niger, Liberia, Afghanistan, Chad and Ethiopia (with main focus on the Somali region). He started with MDM in 2005, then ACF, NRC, Oxfam, and iMMAP. Nicolas also has a construction, logistics and security background.
Before joining the NGO sector, he was the head of construction sites for 3 years in France. In 2014, Nicolas left the security and logistics manager position for Oxfam in Ethiopia and took the security advisor role in Oxfam Spain HQ in Barcelona. In this job, Nicolas has been advising on the corporate security aspect at HQ level as well as providing technical security support to the country where the Spanish branch of Oxfam is present: mainly in Latin America and the Caribbean, and West Africa.
At the end of 2015, Nicolas started to chair the Oxfam Security Working Group composed of all security advisers of the Oxfam confederation while developing a new security management structure for the new Oxfam confederation model. In January 2018 Nicolas became the Global Security Lead for the Oxfam Confederation. He overviewed 10,000 employees in 90 countries worldwide.
