Krupa N.

Director Of Bioinformatics at Immunexpress

Krupa N. has worked in a variety of roles in the field of bioinformatics since 2004. In 2004, they worked as a Scientific Officer in the Department of Lab Medicine at Wockhardt Hospitals in Mumbai. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Research Assistant at Arizona State University, where they studied the photosynthetic apparatus and gene expression changes under different growth conditions using microarray technology. In 2007, they worked as a Research Assistant at TGen, studying the role of Kibra gene in human lung and breast cancer and memory loss. From 2008 to 2014, they worked as a Research Associate at the Biodesign Institute, where they worked on a project related to Valley Fever Diagnostic. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Systems Biology, where they developed interactomes of the human inflammasome using affinity purified mass spectrometry proteomics data. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Data Analyst/Sr. Computational Specialist at the University of Washington, where they conducted NGS data analysis to identify differentially expressed genes in mRNA sequencing data from vaccination models of SIV. Finally, from 2017 to present, they have worked as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Immunexpress Inc., where they have configured and maintained a quality control pipeline for NGS data using shell scripting, FastQC, MultiQC and samtools, and conducted NGS, microarray and proteomics data analysis in R with Shiny application development relevant to sepsis research, as well as data mining relevant to infectious disease epidemics.

Krupa N. began their educational journey in 1986 at St. John the Baptist High School, where they completed their high school degree. In 2000, they completed a Diploma in Software Technology & Systems Management from the National Institute of Information Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Mumbai. Krupa then obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education in 2003. In 2006, Krupa N. earned a Professional Science Masters in Computational Biosciences from Arizona State University, and in 2014, they completed their PhD in Biological Design from the same university.
