Darren Moens has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Darren is currently the VP of Project Development at Imperative Global since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Climate Fund Managers B.V. from 2018 to 2022, serving as an Investment Manager and later as an Executive in Capital Raising & Business Development. At Climate Fund Managers, they were responsible for developing investment strategies and mandates for climate change relevant investment funds, raising capital commitments, and bringing the funds into the market. Before that, from 2013 to 2018, they worked at FMO - Dutch Development Bank as an Investment Officer in Energy Project Finance, where they focused on structuring project finance debt packages in Asia. Darren also worked as an Analyst in Energy Project Finance at FMO, managing a portfolio of energy clients and supporting investment officers in deal origination and structuring. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Project Coordinator at Research In Motion in 2010 and as a Teaching Assistant at Simon Fraser University in 2010. Darren also served as Force Protection for Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team at the Department of National Defence from 2007 to 2009.
Darren Moens completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Simon Fraser University from 2006 to 2011. In 2011, they pursued a Master's degree in International Finance at the University of Amsterdam - Amsterdam Business School, which they completed in 2012 with honors (cum laude). In 2016, they obtained a certificate in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies from Stanford University.
