Daniel Diazdelcastillo

Daniel Diazdelcastillo has a diverse work experience in the engineering field. Daniel started their career as a Formula SAE Electric Vehicle Design Lead at Drexel University in 2014. Daniel then joined FOUNDER.org as a University Associate, where they connected start-up companies and collaborated with the University of Pennsylvania for events. In 2015, Daniel took on various roles at the SpaceX Hyperloop Competition, including Head of Integration and Aerodynamics, Structures & Power System Engineer. Daniel continued to gain experience in the transportation industry as a Pod Engineering Coop at Hyperloop One in 2016. Daniel also interned at Arrivo - The Arrival Company, Virgin Orbit, and Terrapin Rocket Team, where they managed hybrid and solid rockets. Most recently, they worked as an Engineer at Joby Aviation before joining Impulse Space in 2023. Throughout their career, Daniel has demonstrated a strong commitment to engineering and has been involved in various research and collaboration efforts.

Daniel Diazdelcastillo started their education at North Point High School, where they obtained their high school diploma in the Engineering Program in 2012. Daniel then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Drexel University from 2012 to 2017.

In 2017, Daniel enrolled in the University of Maryland to pursue a Masters in Aerospace Engineering, which they completed in 2018. The same year, they also obtained a Systems Engineering Certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Throughout their education, Daniel also obtained several certifications. In 2017, they became a Six Sigma Black Belt Certified by the Aveta Business Institute and also obtained an Engineer-in-Training certification from NCEES. In 2019, they obtained certifications in Rescue Diving, Advanced Open Water Diving, Specialty Diving (Dry Suit Diving), and Primary & Secondary Care (CPR/AED/First Aid) from PADI.

Additionally, in 2020, Daniel completed a GD&T Basics Fundamentals Course offered by GD&T Basics.

It is worth noting that Daniel has mentioned other certifications, such as Boater Education Card (license), Confined Space Entry Training, GD&T Training, Open Water Scuba Diving, Private Pilot Single Engine Land, Special Flight Rules Airspace (SFRA) Clearance & Trained, and UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) FAR Part 107 Licensed Operator.
