Jean Hoover

Jean Hoover has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jean currently works as the IT Director for the City of Covington at In-Telecom since 2022. Before that, they served as the Director of Operations at Magnolia Wealth Strategies, a MassMutual firm, from 2020 to 2022. In this role, they collaborated with executive-level management, maximized efficiency and productivity, set strategic goals, and built relationships with department heads and external partners.

Prior to that, Jean held various roles at STARC of Louisiana, Inc. from 2012 to 2020, including Technology Administrator. In this position, they provided assistance to multiple departments, managed technology grants, maintained ticketing systems, managed social media channels, and implemented and trained staff on software solutions.

From 2008 to 2012, Jean worked at Southwest Engineers as the Purchasing | Accounting IT Manager. Jean coordinated procurement, maintained hardware and software, and trained the accounting department on new processes. Earlier in their career, they were the Technology Coordinator at the St. Tammany Association for Retarded Citizens and the Business Development Director at PrintTixUSA.

Jean's work experience also includes a long tenure at O'Neil Theatres, Inc. from 1987 to 2005, where they served as the Director of Office Operations. In this role, they were responsible for hardware, software, and networking maintenance, supervised staff, negotiated contracts, conducted financial audits, and upgraded corporate systems.

Throughout their career, Jean has achieved significant accomplishments such as reducing costs through negotiations, implementing new software solutions, and saving substantial amounts of money for organizations.

Jean Hoover attended Leadership Northshore in 2013-2014, where they studied Urban Education and Leadership. In 2014, they also enrolled in Code School, where they pursued courses in all tracks. Jean obtained additional certifications including CSS Cross-Country from Code School in January 2015, and Scrum Fundamentals Certified from SCRUMstudy - Accreditation Body for Scrum and Agile in July 2014.
