Maurice Hoffmann

Maurice Hoffmann serves as the CEO of the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) since March 1994, leading efforts focused on sustainable management and research related to nature. In addition to this role, Maurice is an Associate at EKLIPSE since June 2019, contributing to the organization's transitional efforts and future initiatives. Previously, Maurice held the position of Professor in the Terrestrial Ecology Unit at Ghent University from October 1981 until November 2023, where research concentrated on terrestrial ecosystem dynamics, including population and community dynamics. Maurice earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in biology with a specialization in plant ecology from Ghent University and completed VWO at Zeldenrust College.
