Rafael Acevedo

Rafael Acevedo has a diverse work experience, starting in 2013 as an Undergraduate Researcher at GPRT/UFPE. In 2014, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at C.E.S.A.R before transitioning to a full-time Software Engineer role at the same company from May 2016 to November 2016.

In 2016, Rafael joined Incognia as a Software Engineer, where they worked on location-based mobile advertising and engagement solutions. Rafael also contributed to the creation of intelligence over location data and developed high-performance backend systems using Go, Java, Redis, Kafka, Apache Spark, and PostgreSQL. Rafael held this role until January 2020, after which they were promoted to Senior Software Engineer until February 2021. Since February 2021, Rafael has been serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Incognia.

In addition to their roles at Incognia, Rafael worked as a Community Organizer at Elastic starting in April 2019.

Rafael Acevedo obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, where they attended from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained certifications in "Try Ember" from Code School in March 2016 and "Elastic Community Organizer" from Elastic in January 2021.
