Fatma Farag is an experienced software engineer with a career spanning from 2017 to the present. In 2017, they co-founded QGifts, an e-commerce website that helps Egyptians expats keep in touch with family and friends back-home. At QGifts, they conducted market research to identify user need and validate the solution, as well as developed a roadmap, go-to market strategy and user acquisition approach. In 2018, they worked as a Software Engineering Intern at E-Phunk, where they built an MVP for a platform connecting social media influencers to brands, as well as a native android client and a web client. Fatma also collaborated with product, marketing and UX teams on prototyping and iteration. Additionally, in 2018, they worked as a Computer Science Summer Intern at Ain Shams University Research Group, where they created a virtual tour of the Suez Canal and optimized the tour to work on HTC Vive, and worked with a team on a virtual tour of the Great Pyramid, Khufu. Fatma also built customizations to Moodle for various tasks. Since 2019, they have been working as a Staff Software Engineer at Incorta.
Fatma Farag attended the American University in Cairo from 2015 to 2019 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In 2017, they also attended SUNY New Paltz, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
