Omar Mohamed

Omar Mohamed has worked as a software engineer since 2017. In that year, they completed an internship at Bloomberg LP, where they joined a team responsible for distributing real-time market data to thousands of customers worldwide. Omar also worked on enhancing support tools and making them less error-prone. In the same year, they completed an internship at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where they were involved in developing the customer-facing EC2 APIs, specifically related to internal service orchestration. Omar worked on a project to assist with automation and monitoring of internal processes. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer at Smartera 3S Solutions and Systems. Currently, they are a Staff Software Engineer at Incorta, where they are estimating specific customer queries performance on multi-billion records data sets, benchmarking AWS EMR Clusters of different sizes to test scalability of performance.

Omar Mohamed obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from Alexandria University between 2013 and 2019. Omar also holds certifications from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) including Functional Programming in Scala Capstone, Functional Programming in Scala Specialization, Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark, Parallel Programming, Functional Program Design in Scala, and Functional Programming Principles in Scala, all obtained in 2020. Additionally, Omar holds certifications from the University of California San Diego, including Data Structures and Algorithms Specialization, Genome Assembly Programming Challenge, Data Structures and Performance, Object Oriented Programming in Java, Advanced Algorithms and Complexity, Algorithms on Strings, Data Structures, and Algorithms on Graphs, all obtained between 2016 and 2017, as well as Python Data Structures obtained in 2016.
