Philip A. Choyce

Philip A. Choyce is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Independence Contract Drilling. Prior to this, they were the Owner/Sole Shareholder of The Choyce Firm, P.C. from October 2008 to February 2012. Before that, they were with Grant Prideco, Inc. as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary from December 1999 to June 2008.

Philip has significant experience in leading and executing spinoffs, mergers, and acquisitions, as well as in legal negotiations and complex litigation cases. Philip was responsible for Grant Prideco's compliance program and oversaw the company's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the New York Stock Exchange. Under their leadership, Grant Prideco received over $100 million in settlement payments and significant ongoing royalties from a patent infringement case against various drill bit competitors.

Philip A. Choyce attended the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where they earned their Juris Doctor degree. Philip also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University - College Station, with a major in accounting.
