Malith Ranasinghe

Malith Ranasinghe has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Their most recent position was as a Senior Software Engineer at Index Exchange, starting in November 2020. Prior to that, they worked at NortonLifeLock from November 2019 to June 2022, where their main focus was helping the team migrate to AWS and providing guidance on migrating legacy applications and ensuring security. From November 2017 to November 2019, Malith was a Senior Software Engineer at Symantec, where they led efforts to provision environments in AWS and developed a platform building pipeline using Terraform and Gitlab CI/CD.

Before Symantec, they worked at SurfEasy from May 2015 to November 2019 as a Full Stack Developer, contributing to various components including server stacking, API optimization, and building automation tools. Malith designed a bot to self-heal a network of virtual machines and built a Slack integration for easy scaling and troubleshooting. Earlier in their career, Malith worked at IBM Canada Ltd. as a Compiler Optimization Developer from May 2013 to August 2014.

Malith Ranasinghe pursued their education at various institutions, starting with the University of Moratuwa where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. Engineering) degree in Computer Engineering from 2008 to 2009. Malith then proceeded to the University of Toronto, where they studied Computer Engineering and obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree between 2010 and 2014. Finally, they went on to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they pursued their Master's degree in Computer Science from 2019 to 2022.
