Matthew D. Thompson

Matthew D. Thompson has extensive work experience in the field of higher education administration. Matthew D. served as the President of Indian Hills Community College since September 2020 and previously held the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs & Institutional Effectiveness at the same institution from August 2013 to September 2020. Prior to that, they were the Dean of Student Services & Director of Institutional Advancement at Southwestern Community College in Creston, IA from August 2008 to August 2013.

Matthew D. Thompson earned a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies with an emphasis on Community College Leadership from Iowa State University in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained an M.A. in History from East Tennessee State University in 2005. Their undergraduate degree, a B.S. in History, was also received from Iowa State University in 2003.
