Pierre Atlas serves as the Director of the Master of Public Affairs Program and a Senior Lecturer at the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University Indianapolis since June 2021. Atlas has contributed editorial insights as a Monthly Opinion Columnist for the Indianapolis Business Journal since February 2019 and has been an Advanced Placement Exam Reader for the College Board in US Government and Politics since 2007. Previously, Atlas held the position of Professor of Political Science at Marian University Indianapolis for nearly two decades, where significant contributions included the establishment of the BA program in Political Science. Other notable roles include being the Founding Director of The Richard G. Lugar Franciscan Center for Global Studies. Atlas has also served as an Opinion Columnist for The Indianapolis Star and as a Peer Reviewer for the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Political Science from Rutgers University and advanced degrees from the University of Arizona and the Defense Language Institute.
