James Kinney has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. James started their career in the US Army as a Combat Communications Specialist, where they installed, operated, and maintained various field telecommunications systems. After leaving the army, they joined LISN Inc as a Telecommunications Specialist, where they installed central office equipment and worked on Siemens EWSD installations. James then moved on to Siemens as an EWSD Installation and Cut-over specialist, where they installed and upgraded Siemens EWSD Class-5 switching systems. Following this, James worked at Telephone Service Company (Hanson/TSC Communications) as a Telecom/Internet Systems Engineering, Installation, and Operation specialist. In this role, they engineered telecom solutions, maintained and operated telecom equipment, and supported LEC needs for troubleshooting SS7 links and protocols. Since 2009, James has been working at INdigital telecom as the Chief Innovation Officer. Here, they direct teams responsible for designing, engineering, and architecting public safety solutions and services. James focuses on NG9-1-1/NGCS i3 and other standard VoIP components, and played a vital role in the development and deployment of the Texty product, which introduced SMS for 9-1-1. Throughout their career, James has demonstrated proficiency in integration, innovation, and developing cutting-edge telecommunications solutions.
James Kinney attended Fredericktown High School from 1986 to 1990, where they did not pursue any specific field of study. James then enrolled in Knox County Career Center from 1988 to 1990 to study Electronics Engineering. Following this, James attended various schools within the US Military from 1990 to 1993, specializing in Telecommunications. Finally, they attended Rhodes State College from 2007 to 2009, focusing on Computer and Information Sciences with a concentration in Networking. James did not complete a specific degree at any of these educational institutions.
