Nils John Schumacher

Nils John Schumacher has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Nils John began their career in 1992 as a Legal Intern at the Court of Appeals in Nuremberg. From 1993 to 1995, they worked as a Legal Counsel at Gerald Hübschmann Unternehmensberatung GmbH, where they handled all legal matters for the IT consultancy and software development company. In 1994, they worked as an Intern and Of-Counsel at Berliner, Corcoran & Rowe, LLP, assisting with international commercial and labor law cases.

In 1995, Schumacher established their own solo practice, the Law Offices of Nils John Schumacher, where they provided legal assistance in various areas such as contracts, labor law, copyright law, trade law, and corporate law. Nils John also specialized in offering legal support to IT startup companies and business reorganization.

From 1995 to 2014, Schumacher held the position of Chief Legal Counsel and Head of HR at DATA BECKER GmbH & Co. KG, a company involved in software product management, development, licensing, and distribution. During their tenure, the company grew to have subsidiaries and licensees in multiple countries with up to 350 employees and EUR 50 million in annual turnover.

In 1998, Schumacher worked as the Corporate Secretary at DATA BECKER Corporation, the exclusive licensee of DATA BECKER GmbH & Co. KG, responsible for the sale and distribution of computer software.

In 2014, Schumacher joined Dreamlines, an internet platform and multichannel online travel agency specializing in cruises, as the Group Legal Counsel. Nils John managed legal matters for the company and its subsidiaries in various countries.

In 2017, Schumacher joined the Indivumed Group as the Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Indivumed Inc. Nils John also served as the Vice President Legal and later as the Legal Counsel, providing legal expertise and support to the company.

In 2018, Schumacher returned to Indivumed as the Chief Legal & People Officer and Corporate Secretary of Indivumed Inc., a role they held until 2019.

Throughout their career, Schumacher has demonstrated expertise in a wide range of legal areas, including contracts, labor law, copyright law, trade law, and corporate law.

Nils John Schumacher has a diverse education history in various fields. Nils John obtained their 1. State Examination (Bavaria) from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg between 1985 and 1992, where their field of study included Law and Oriental Studies. Nils John later pursued a Certificate in Mediation from FernUniversität in Hagen from 2000 to 2001. In 2002 and 2003, Schumacher attended Institut Universitaire Kurt Bösch and completed a European Master in Mediation (E.M.M.) with a specialization in Business Mediation. From 2008 to 2010, they continued their studies at FernUniversität in Hagen, obtaining a Certified Business Economist (Betriebswirt IWW) degree in Business Administration. Finally, Schumacher completed their education by becoming a Fully Qualified Lawyer (GER) and Business Mediator, specializing in Business Administration, until 2011.
