Rui Teixeira

Rui Teixeira has over two decades of work experience in software engineering and development. Rui began their career in 1999 as a System Manager at the University of Coimbra-Pharmacy before moving on to work as a Software Developer at XLM, outsourcing work in PTinovação. At XLM, they were responsible for the development of an information system using PL/SQL and Java interface.

In 2006, Rui joined Siemens as a Software Engineer, where they worked until 2007. Rui then joined Nokia Siemens Networks and held various roles, including Team Leader and Software Engineer. At NSN, Rui worked on the development of planning and optimization tools for large-scale DWDM optical fiber networks, including the SURPASS NCP and SURPASS TransNet projects.

Since 2013, Rui has been working at Infinera, where they initially served as a Team Leader and Senior Lead Software Engineer before being promoted to Staff Software Development Engineer and eventually, Principal Software Engineer. In their current role, Rui is the Tech Lead responsible for the backend development of XR Optics, a cloud-based software solution. Rui has implemented best practices for continuous integration and delivery and has achieved significant achievements such as introducing a common library deployment and integrating Sonar Quality Gates.

Throughout their career, Rui has showcased expertise in various programming languages and technologies, including Golang, Iotivity architecture, TemporalIO, Terraform, and more. Rui has experience in coordinating development teams, managing projects, and following agile methodologies.

Rui Teixeira attended Universidade de Coimbra from 1998 to 2004, where they obtained a Licentiate degree in Computer Sciences.
