Chris Wood

Chris Wood has a diverse work experience in the photonics industry. Chris is currently working at Infleqtion as the Chief Technology Officer, starting in September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Insight Lidar as a LiDAR Consultant from January 2022 to October 2022, and as the VP of LiDAR from January 2018 to January 2022. Before that, they held the role of VP Spectroscopy at Insight Photonic Solutions from September 2016 to January 2018. Chris also served as the CTO at Kapteyn-Murnane Laboratories (KMLabs) Inc. from March 2014 to March 2016, and as the VP of Research from March 2012 to March 2014. Their earlier experiences include being the Director of R&D and Director of BD at Precision Photonics from May 2009 to April 2012, and working as a Senior Research Scientist at Lockheed Martin Coherent Technologies from January 2003 to May 2009. Chris also worked at Network Photonics as an Electro-Optics Team Leader and Product Line Manager from 2000 to 2002, and as a Senior Optical Physicist at ILX Lightwave - A Newport Company from August 1998 to January 2000.

Chris Wood earned a PhD in Atomic/Molecular Physics from the University of Colorado Boulder, where they studied from 1989 to 1997. Following their doctoral program, they pursued a PostDoc opportunity in Quantum Logic at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, which they completed in 1998.
