Junyi Xia has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2000, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Memphis until 2003. Following that, from 2003 to 2004, they worked as a Scientific Programmer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In 2005, they became a Research Assistant at the University of Florida until 2009.
In 2009, Xia joined the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics as a Medical Physics Resident, a position they held until 2011. From 2011 to 2018, they served as an Assistant Professor at the same institution.
In 2014, Xia became a Co-founder of INFONDRIAN LLC, a company focused on providing innovative software solutions in radiation oncology. In 2018, they joined Mount Sinai Health System as a Medical Physicist.
In 2019, Xia became an Associate Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where they currently work. They also served as the Program Director for the Clinical Medical Physics Residency Program from 2019 to 2022.
Additionally, Xia became a Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors in 2020.
Junyi Xia earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Machinery from Zhejiang University from 1992 to 1996. Following that, Xia pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Memphis from 2000 to 2003. Xia then went on to complete a Ph.D. in Medical Physics at the University of Florida from 2005 to 2009. In addition to Xia's formal education, they obtained a certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics from the American Board of Radiology in June 2011.
