Daniel Castro is a seasoned professional in information technology and policy with extensive experience in research, analysis, and writing. As the Director at the Center for Data Innovation since July 2013, Daniel focuses on the impact of data-driven innovation on industry and government. In addition, Daniel serves as a Contributing Writer for Government Technology, discussing the effects of information technology on state and local government. As Vice President at the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation since March 2007, Daniel publishes and presents research on various information policy issues and has testified before Congressional committees on Internet policy and e-government matters. Early career experience includes serving as an Analyst at the U.S. Government Accountability Office, auditing IT security at government agencies. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Information Security Technology & Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Science Technology and International Affairs from Georgetown University.
