Oisin Naughton has extensive experience in aquatic sciences and conservation initiatives. Currently serving as a Catchment Management Officer at Inland Fisheries Ireland since 2008, Oisin promotes conservation efforts across the Shannon catchment through stakeholder engagement. Prior experience includes working as a Scientific Technical Officer at the Marine Institute, where Oisin coordinated a Coastal Zone Management project and contributed to the ICES CZM Working Group. Oisin also has a research background with the freshwater research group at NUIG, focusing on eel management, juvenile salmon surveys, fish parasitology, zebra mussel ecology, and water quality programs, alongside part-time lecturing. Oisin holds an MSc and BSc (Hons) in Marine Science/Zoology from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a Diploma in Applied Aquatic Sciences from Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology.
