Mark Flores

Mark Flores has a diverse work experience in various roles within the fields of information security, cloud infrastructure, and systems administration.

Mark worked as an Information Security Engineer at Inmar Intelligence since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure and Security Engineer at the same company from April 2018 to July 2021. In this role, they were responsible for building, maintaining, and automating infrastructure on Linux platforms on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. Mark also worked on security engineering and architecture, deploying and configuring Tenable and Rapid7, and managing CDN.

Before joining Inmar Intelligence, Mark worked as a Senior IT Specialist (Unix/Linux Infrastructure) at the United States Department of Defense from December 2016 to April 2018. Their responsibilities included managing Unix/Linux infrastructure and applications/services, particularly Solaris and RHEL on bare metal and VMWare.

Prior to that, Mark worked as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer at Kronos Incorporated for a short period in 2016. Mark worked on a project for a future Kronos product utilizing Google Cloud Platform with RHEL 7 and RH Satellite.

Mark also has experience as a Senior Unix Systems Administrator at Goldbelt Hawk, LLC from March 2016 to July 2016. In this role, they worked with Solaris and Red Hat Linux systems, managing patching, administration, and security tasks. Mark also focused on solutions engineering with a security emphasis for defense contract sites.

Before that, Mark worked as a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer at Rodan + Fields Dermatologists from June 2014 to March 2016. Their responsibilities included provisioning, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems, optimizing system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing new technologies.

Mark's earlier experience includes roles as an Integration and Support Team Systems Engineer at Mobile-Technologies from December 2013 to April 2014, a DevOps Engineer at Snapfish from May 2011 to June 2013, a Business Systems Analyst and Production Operations Engineer at CyberSource from December 2007 to May 2011, and a NOC Systems Analyst at Walmart.com from February 2005 to November 2007.

Their earliest work experience includes a role as a NOC Systems Support Technician at FriendFinder Networks Inc. from November 2003 to January 2005.

Mark Flores attended Master's Institute from 1999 to 2001, where they studied Windows NT Administration and Novell Networking, but did not obtain a degree. In addition to their education, Mark also received several certifications. In August 2002, they obtained the CompTIA Network+ certification from CompTIA. Later, in March 2016, Mark obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification, also from CompTIA. Their most recent certification is the Akamai Web Performance and Offload, which they obtained from Akamai Technologies in October 2018.
