Joseph K Karanja, P.Eng, PMP, PgMP has a diverse work experience spanning several industries.

Starting in 2011, they worked as an Engineering Intern at Brayton Energy Canada.

In 2012, they had two internships at Babcock Canada Inc., where they gained experience in engineering change packages, removal drawings, and conducting heat load assessments for submarine cooling systems using Simsmart. Joseph K also used SolidWorks to model the engine room and aid in component fitting.

In 2012, Joseph worked as an Engineering Assistant at OC Transpo, a division of the City of Ottawa. Here, they collected and analyzed data to conduct failure analysis and assisted in life cycle planning. Joseph K also updated databases and created production drawings using SolidWorks.

From 2013 to 2018, Joseph joined Linamar Corporation, first as a Process Engineer-In-Training and later as a Program Manager. As a Process Engineer-In-Training, they successfully launched transmission sprocket production lines, optimized drive sprocket casting, and presented energy conservation projects that saved significant costs. As a Program Manager, they led the transition of multiple processes to multiple suppliers, reduced cycle time and improved quality, and managed interdependent projects to improve overall equipment efficiency.

In 2021, Joseph co-founded the Black Spinel Initiative, where they serve as the Director of Operations. Joseph K uses innovative approaches such as user-centric research to identify market opportunities, manages product development, creates plans and documents, directs marketing and promotion, develops financial estimates, manages finances, and recruits talent.

Currently, Joseph is working as the Advanced Technology Program Manager at Inmotive Inc., where they are responsible for managing advanced technology programs.

Throughout their career, Joseph has demonstrated strong leadership, communication, negotiation, conflict management, and change management skills, and has consistently delivered projects on time, on budget, and in line with customer requirements.

Joseph K Karanja, P.Eng, PMP, PgMP has a strong educational background and has obtained several certifications to enhance their professional skills. Joseph K completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa from 2008 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned their High School Diploma from the International School of Geneva, Switzerland (L.G.B.) from 2003 to 2008.

In addition to their formal education, Joseph has obtained several certifications to further their knowledge and expertise. Joseph K is a Program Management Professional (PgMP) from the Project Management Institute, obtained in April 2021. Joseph K also holds the Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification from Professional Engineers Ontario, which was obtained in July 2020. Furthermore, Joseph is a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute, achieved in August 2019. Joseph K also obtained the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from the International Scrum Institute™ in June 2019. Additionally, they hold the Capacity Planner certification from Ford Motor Company, obtained in June 2016.
