Jesse K.

Jesse K. has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries and roles. Starting in 1989 as a Senior Auditor at Coopers & Lybrand, Jesse then joined Philip Morris International in 1994 as a Senior Corporate Auditor. In 1998, Jesse established their own firm, Jesse Kwan Professional Corporation, as the Principal Owner, providing Accounting, Taxation, and Internal Controls Consultancy services.

Returning to Philip Morris International in 2005, Jesse held various managerial positions, including Regional Internal Controls Manager for Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, and later as the Corporate Internal Controls Manager, where they led projects on the COSO Internal Controls Integrated Framework transition and global Policies and Procedures deployment.

In 2020, Jesse joined Innovation Federal Credit Union as the Internal Audit Manager, and currently holds the position of Vice President of Corporate Transformation. Overall, Jesse K. brings extensive expertise in internal controls, risk assessment, governance reporting, and compliance to their roles.

Jesse K. has a diverse education history. In 1982, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary. They then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from the same university, completing it in 1989. In 2019, Jesse attended the University of Alberta for a course on Information Access & Protection of Privacy Foundations. Later, in 2020-2021, they completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Business from Emeritus, with collaboration from MIT Sloan and Columbia Business School. In 2022-2023, Jesse acquired a Sustainable Investment Professional Certification from Concordia University, specializing in ESG Sustainable Investment. Additionally, they hold various certifications, including Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) obtained in 2021, Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) obtained in 2021, and a Chartered professional accountant designation from 2015, among others.
