Kathryn Eshelman, M.D., M.P.H. has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Kathryn started their career as an Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2008 and held the position until 2011. Following that, they worked at the Family Health Centers of Baltimore from 2005 to 2008. In 2008, they joined Inovalon, where they have held various roles. Currently, they serve as the VP Clinical Informatics and Enterprise Solutions, overseeing the development of clinical toolsets and medical informatics product lines. Kathryn is responsible for the design and development of provider-decision platforms that deliver patient-specific insights at the point of care. Additionally, they are a Senior Medical Director at Inovalon, responsible for clinical analytics, quality programs, evidence-based standards, and best-practice maintenance for all products.

Kathryn Eshelman, M.D., M.P.H. has a comprehensive education history. In 1996, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Lafayette College. Kathryn then went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) from The George Washington University in 2001. Following that, they completed an Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2004. In 2014, they became re-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Subsequently, they pursued board certification in Clinical Informatics and successfully obtained it from the American Board of Preventive Medicine in 2015. Kathryn Eshelman has also acquired additional certification from HL7 in Clinical FHIR, and in 2019 they obtained the HL7 FHIR For Clinicians Certification.
