SJ Marais

SJ Marais is a co-founder and CEO of Alphawave Golf, and co-founder of Inrange, both roles held since July 2017. Inrange specializes in advanced driving range technology, emphasizing software solutions alongside hardware sales. Prior to these ventures, SJ Marais served as Project Lead at EMSS Antennas from November 2006 to June 2017, focusing on distributed radar sensor technology for golf ball tracking, and held positions as Technical Lead and Design Engineer, contributing to RF electronics for the MeerKAT radio telescope and antenna design for radio astronomy. SJ Marais holds a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Stellenbosch University, completed between 2001 and 2006.
