Tamás Katona has a diverse work experience. From 2012 to 2015, they held the roles of Software Engineer and Instructor at the University of Debrecen, where they developed device integration, user interface and image processing programs for advanced microscopy. In 2015, they were appointed Senior Student Partner and Microsoft Student Partner at Microsoft. In 2016, they became the Chief Product Officer & Co-Founder of InSimu, where they worked to give medical doctors and students the opportunity to practice their future clinical work in the safety of virtual reality on simulated patients with the full scale of diagnostic methods. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Debrecen, teaching high-level programming tools such as C++ and C# to second-year BSc students.
Tamás Katona is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Data Science and Deep Learning from the University of Debrecen. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the same university between 2014 and 2016. Tamás also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Debrecen, which they obtained between 2010 and 2014. Additionally, they have an Erasmus + Scholarship from the University of Strasbourg. Tamás has also obtained several certifications from various institutions, including Coursera, Udemy, and the CITI Program.
