Dan Whalen

Dan Whalen is an experienced professional in the field of protein sciences and structural biology, currently serving as Director of Protein Sciences at insitro since September 2021. Prior to this, Dan held the position of Associate Director at the same company and was a Visiting Scientist at the Laboratory for Research in Complex Systems from February 2022 to February 2023. Dan's previous roles include Senior Scientist in Structural Biology & Biophysics at REVOLUTION Medicines and a postdoctoral research fellow at Genentech. Dan began a postdoctoral research position at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics at the University of Oxford, focusing on X-ray crystallography. Dan earned a DPhil in Clinical Medicine, specializing in Structural Biology, and an MBiochem in Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry from the University of Oxford.
