Michael Smith

Mike joined Insmed in 2014 as Corporate Counsel and has held positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice President, Corporate Counsel and Senior Vice President, General Counsel – U.S. He became General Counsel in July 2021, bringing more than 20 years of legal expertise to the role. Prior to Insmed, Mike served as Associate General Counsel at ViroPhama Incorporated from 2008 until it was acquired by Shire plc in 2014. Prior to ViroPharma, he worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb and the law firm of Reed Smith. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Duquesne University and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law.
