Tom Frauenfelder has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Tom is currently working at Inspace as the Head of Product since March 2022. Tom previously held the position of Product Manager at the same company from February 2021 to April 2022.
Before joining Inspace, Tom worked at the University of Melbourne as the Design Technology Manager from August 2018 to February 2021. In this role, they were responsible for managing the Fabrication Workshop and implementing special projects such as the NExT Laboratory and FabLab website redesign. Tom also provided training and ensured compliance with health and safety regulations for various technologies in the FabLab spaces.
Prior to that, Tom was the Design Director at The Architecture Project (TAP) from June 2009 to August 2018. Tom handled all aspects of the design process, including concept design, 3D modeling, rendering, visualization, and documentation. Tom also worked on projects ranging from small items like hearing aids to large-scale art sculptures.
Tom's entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found two companies. Tom co-founded Benefit Health in May 2017 and served as a Co-Founder until May 2018. Tom also co-founded Faceup TV in December 2015 and played a crucial role in building the product and solving various challenges.
Additionally, Tom has worked as the Chief Product Officer at SCANN3D from April 2015 to December 2015. Tom has also held roles as a Design Tutor at RMIT University from February 2012 to July 2015, Design and Product Manager at Atelier GRIFFIN from September 2014 to May 2015, and Graduate Architect at studio 505 from November 2011 to September 2014.
Furthermore, Tom has teaching experience at the University of Melbourne, where they served as a Tutor from February 2007 to November 2011, focusing on digital communication and design subjects. Tom also worked as the Digital Fabrication Laboratory Manager from January 2009 to April 2010.
Tom Frauenfelder has a comprehensive education history in the field of architecture. Tom completed their Bachelor's degree in Architecture at RMIT University from 2005 to 2009. Following this, they pursued a Masters degree in Architecture at RMIT University from 2010 to 2013. In addition to their studies at RMIT, Tom also attended SCI-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture) in 2011 to further enhance their architectural skills. Prior to their Bachelor's degree, Tom began their architectural education at Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien in 2009.
